Michael Jordan responds to Dean Smith's passing

On Saturday night, Dean Smith passed away at the age of 83 following a long battle with dementia. Michael Jordan was one of the first to provide his condolences and offer a statement. "Other than my parents, no one had a bigger influence on my life than Coach Smith," said Jordan in the prepared statement. "He was more than a coach — he was my mentor, my teacher, my second father." (Sporting News)
