Woody Durham, longtime UNC announcer, will be emcee for public memorial to Dean Smith
Posted Feb 14, 2015
Woody Durham, the former voice of the North Carolina Tar Heels who broadcast most of Dean Smith’s career, says he'll feel a little pressure as the master of ceremonies for the public memorial for Smith on Feb. 22. Durham, 73, retired in July, 2011 after 40 years as the voice of the Tar Heels. He said he expects a near full house at the Dean Smith Center to honor Smith, who died on Feb. 7 at the age of 83.
