The focus on restocking defensive talent as UNC moves from the 4-2-5 to a 4-3 alignment under new coordinator Gene Chizik was evident in this recent run of commitments. Four of the five pledges to the Tar Heels came from defenders: 6-6, 221-pound defensive end Nolan DeFranco from Winter Garden, Florida; 6-3, 232-pound defensive end Tomon Fox of Suwanee, Georgia; 6-3, 206-pound outside linebacker Tyrone Hopper from Roswell, Georgia, and 6-3, 198-pound outside linebacker Dominique Ross from Jacksonville, Florida.
