Despite draft status, Tokoto, Lacey face similar NBA challenge

J.P. Tokoto was taken by the Philadelphia 76ers with the third-to-last pick of the NBA draft last Thursday. Trevor Lacey was left out in the cold after being passed over — twice — by all 30 teams. Given those results, it would be easy to proclaim that Tokoto’s gamble of giving up his final season of eligibility at UNC paid off while a similar decision by Lacey to leave N.C. State early came up snake eyes.
