After eight seasons with the Panthers and four with the Bears, Julius Peppers signed a three-year, $26 million deal in March – the kind of free-agent signing the Packers rarely make – that paid him a guaranteed $7.5 million signing bonus and $1 million base salary last season. While he wasn’t as dominant as he was in his prime, Peppers proved to be a worthy running mate for Clay Matthews.
