The Tar Heels who had been so eager, so overanxious in the first half suddenly were willing to play small ball. The most exciting single play of the game--Quentin Thomas's underhanded alley-oop to Wright--might have come in the first half. But the most productive overall play of the game came in the second half. It was like watching the '27 Yankees score a run without hitting the ball out of the infield.
