When UNC replaced its former defensive coordinator with Gene Chizik it switched from a 4-2-5 to a 4-3 base. They run nickel an awful lot, but a big difference is they are now much bigger everywhere up front on defense. The Tar Heels always have four true defensive linemen in the game and two true linebackers. That was rarely the case a year ago.
