Two from UNC football team charged with assault

Two UNC football players were charged with assault Thursday night and suspended from the team for their role in an incident at a Franklin Street apartment in the wee hours of Oct. 4. Sophomore cornerback M.J. Stewart Jr., 20, of Arlington, Va. and freshman Michael Hughes, 18, a cornerback from New Bern, are linked to what the incident report describes as a forcible attack.
