Reyshawn Terry has been named the Tar Heels' defensive player of the game nine times, three more than runner-up Wes Miller. Coach Roy Williams said Terry has improved "light years" on defense from two seasons ago. "Defensively he's better in every facet, especially when he has his really good concentration," Williams said. Terry agreed that he has "stepped up a notch" on the defensive end.
