Jerry Stackhouse, an 18-year NBA veteran, brings fresh perspective to Raptors

Jerry Stackhouse never considered coaching as a career, until the day he was sitting in the bleachers at his son Jaye's basketball practice. "He was in the seventh grade. They were just rolling the balls out, and I was like 'I can't watch this (stuff) any longer,'" Stackhouse said, with a laugh. So the 18-year NBA veteran assembled his own AAU squad — Stackhouse Elite — and over the next four years would marvel at how the boys soaked up his instruction, and grew as players. He was hooked.
