P.J. Hairston glad to be starting even after Hornets declined his contract option

The Hornets refused to guarantee P.J. Hairston all of $1.25 million — of an $89 million salary cap — for next season. The Hornets have started Hairston in all four games this season. Hairston was the only 2014 first-round NBA Draft pick whose third-year option was not picked up by Monday's deadline.
