When Gene Chizik arrived at UNC, he was determined to fix one glaring problem, even if he could do nothing else in Year 1 to make the Tar Heels’ defense relevant: End the scourge of missed tackles. As it turns out, Chizik improved UNC’s defense in virtually every facet this year, which is why the Heels are playing in the ACC championship game.
