UNC finally gets over the hump in an ACC tourney final


After losing their last four trips to the ACC Tournament championship game over the last five years, the top-seeded Tar Heels ended their futility and cut down the nets after an emphatic 61-57 victory against second-seeded Virginia at Verizon Center. The victory all but ensures coach ’ team of a No. 1 seed in the upcoming NCAA tournament. (Wilmington Star News)
