Brice Johnson's jersey-raising UNC career a rarity, especially with burger-based snub

Brice Johnson is the exception. Since the McDonald’s All-American Game began in 1977, North Carolina has recruited 26 players who joined the Tar Heels and earned the right to have their jerseys retired or honored in the Smith Center. From Al Wood to Marcus Paige, 25 of the 26 made the McDonald’s game. Johnson didn’t.
