45 years after 'Dooley Bowl,' UNC and Georgia set to meet

Nearly 45 years have passed since the last time North Carolina and Georgia met on the football field. On the very last day of 1971, the Tar Heels and Bulldogs collided in Jacksonville’s Gator Bowl, in a game that will always be remembered as “The Dooley Brothers Bowl.” With the recent death of Bill Dooley, it seems fitting that we revisit that game.
