Patrice Rene seizes spot in secondary

Patrice Rene was a late addition to UNC’s 2016 recruiting class and arrived on campus in June. Most freshmen that enroll in the summer need time to learn the playbook and adjust to college life before they see the field. But the 6-foot-2 cornerback played in the Tar Heels’ season-opening loss against Georgia and saw 71 snaps in the win over James Madison.
