Tar Heels come away with home win
Posted Nov 19, 2006
A win over N.C. State was a small part of what North Carolina's football team hoped to accomplish this season. But with their bowl chances erased long ago and their coach fired even before they were eliminated from postseason consideration, the Tar Heels took what they could get Saturday afternoon. UNC defeated N.C. State 23-9 in front of a crowd of 54,000 at Kenan Stadium, sending Coach John Bunting and the team's seniors out with a victory in their final home game.
