After trying week, Heels fall just short


Some of them wanted to win it for their head coach. Some of them wanted to win it for the seniors. And some of them wanted to win it for the program. After a week of turmoil, North Carolina's football players had no shortage of desire to win their game Saturday. But the Tar Heels were short on points once again, falling to No. 24 Wake Forest 24-17 in front of a crowd of 49,000 at Kenan Stadium in their first game since UNC coach was fired Sunday night.
