On Friday, King Rice was named the MAAC Coach of the Year for the second straight season after Monmouth went 18-2 in the league, becoming the first team in league history to win 18 games. Rice is the third coach in league history to win that award in back-to-back years, joining Iona's Tim Welsh in 1997 and 1998, and La Salle's Speedy Morris in 1988 and 1989.
