McGill hopes for 1,000-yard season for Tar Heels
Posted Sep 9, 2006
Ronnie McGill took the handoff, twirled left and tightroped his way down the sideline, humiliating a handful of would-be tacklers along the way. The spinning, 48-yard scamper was so impressive that his North Carolina teammates couldn't help but watch the replay, and so distracting they couldn't turn away from the Kenan Stadium scoreboard in time to avoid a penalty for delay of game. It was the first of what McGill hopes will be a season of plays worthy of second looks for opponents, coaches and even McGill himself.
