Miami Heat pick up $6.27 million option to bring back guard Wayne Ellington
Posted Jul 9, 2017
The Miami Heat decided it could not do without guard Wayne Ellington’s 3-point shooting. The Heat were able to free enough cap space to bring back one of the main pieces to its bench by picking up the second year of Ellington’s contract for $6.27 million. Ellington, 30, made $6 million last season, his first in Miami. He would have become a free agent had the Heat declined their option.
