Matt Baker replaces the 'Genius'
Posted Aug 9, 2006
Bill Parcells had been referring to rookie quarterback Jeff Mroz as "genius," a dig at the undrafted free agent having attended Yale. Well, he will be referring to Mroz no more, releasing him on Monday and signing rookie free agent Matt Baker on Sunday after a workout. Baker's only snap in Monday's morning practice, coming on the final play of the seven-on-seven session, was ruined when both wide receivers jumped off-sides. There was no do-over.
