Tar Heels' Mitchell to miss fall term; Carey to run track
Posted Jul 21, 2006
Defensive tackle Khalif Mitchell will not enroll at North Carolina for the fall semester, but Coach John Bunting said that Mitchell would have a chance to rejoin the team at a later date. Mitchell, a rising junior, had 13 tackles in 11 games last season. Bunting would not say why Mitchell would not play this season. "Our football program will stay in close contact with him," Bunting said. The school also said that tailback Antwain Carey has decided to forego his remaining eligibility and run track next year.
