A simpler off-season for Roy and Heels
Posted Jun 22, 2006
Roy Williams' wonky back still is causing him discomfort at home and on the golf course, but other than that, it's been a relatively pain-free off-season for North Carolina's basketball coach. Unlike last year when Marvin Williams, Rashad McCants, Raymond Felton and Sean May all went pro, the Tar Heels haven't lost any players to the NBA. Instead, Williams greeted UNC's incoming freshmen -- Wayne Ellington, William Graves, Ty Lawson, Alex Stepheson and Brandan Wright -- on Monday after they arrived on campus over the weekend.
