Scotland kicker Jay Wooten declares early for UNC
Posted May 20, 2006
Scotland High School kicker Jay Wooten, whose coach says is “as good a weapon as I’ve had in high school,’’ decided late Thursday to accept a scholarship offer to join the football program at the University of North Carolina. Wooten will first complete his final season with the Fighting Scots next fall before joining the Tar Heels in 2007. Clemson and LSU had also offered scholarships to Wooten, but he decided on UNC before even making recruiting visits to those schools.
