The loss of Andre Smith to the NFL puts UNC in a bit of a bind at linebacker, as only Cole Holcomb returns with significant starting experience. However, Smith was hurt most of last season, and young players like Jonathan Smith and Dominique Ross got valuable experience. Ross has great size and is athletic, while Smith has great instincts.
