College football: Midseason review
Posted Oct 16, 2008
Not even the most avid UNC fan would have predicted the Tar Heels would be 5-1 at this stage. Only a three-point loss to Virginia Tech prevented a 6-0 start. The key has been UNC’s ability to force turnovers and take advantage of them. The Tar Heels would have to totally collapse not to earn a post-season berth. That won’t happen. Although losing Brandon Tate to a knee injury last week will hurt, UNC is still more than capable of reaching the eight- or nine-win plateau.
