Donnie Walsh and George Karl long have shared a Carolina blue basketball connection, as most former Tar Heels do, no matter when they played. But they now share another unwelcome connection that starts with a C: cancer, with Walsh less than a year removed from tongue cancer surgery and Karl, who already dealt with the prostate variety in 2005, now undergoing treatment for throat cancer.
