Jason Capel named Appalachian State hoops coach

Appalachian State has named Jason Capel its new head men's basketball coach, the school announced Wednesday. At 30 years, three months and six days old, Capel becomes the youngest NCAA Division I head coach. He replaces Buzz Peterson, who left to take the opening at North Carolina-Wilmington. Capel was an assistant for Appalachian State last season in what is his only coaching experience. (Raleigh News & Observer)
