Posted Apr 21, 2010
After three days of speculation, Appalachian State hired Jason Capel to be the new men's basketball coach. Capel replaces Buzz Peterson, who left ASU last Friday to coach at UNC Wilmington. It was first thought that Capel would join Peterson, but it had been reported by Monday that Capel was going to be the new coach at Appalachian State. Capel received a four-year contract worth $150,000 per year plus academic and a scheduling bonus.
