Bill Guthridge, a former North Carolina men’s basketball coach, will be honored on May 20 as the 2010 recipient of the Boy Scouts of America’s Distinguished Citizen Award. The award is given to an Orange County resident who has distinguished himself or herself “professionally and civically, along with exemplifying the ideals of Scouting,” according to a press release. Last year’s winner of this award was Dick Baddour, UNC’s current athletic director.
