James Worthy knew Dean Smith “was slowing down”

James Worthy understands if he might no longer receive a letter from Dean Smith every year. Smith has always regularly stayed in touch with the players he coached during his 36-year stint at North Carolina. But Worthy, who starred on Smith’s first national championship team, expects that effort to be a challenge given Smith’s current health. (Gaston Gazette)
