Jackie Manuel's Brother Killed

I couldn't find any mention of Jackie in the coverage and I was hoping, for his sake, that maybe the two of them simply had the same last name. But Jr., of Chapel Hill, is listed as Donte's brother in the obituary. Jackie was one of the all-time most beloved Carolina basketball players. His work ethic and commitment to his teammates inspired Carolina fans everywhere. still talks about him as the guy who first began to "get it" leading up to Carolina's 2005 championship run. This is not about basketball. It's about life. It's about each and every person's responsibility to try to make their slice of Earth a little bit better. is one of my heros. Now, his brother is too.
