Ex-hoops star Brad Daugherty makes presence felt in NASCAR

Brad Daugherty is a racer who played basketball. Still revered as one of the greatest players in Tar Heels history, Daugherty is more at home in a garage area talking about suspension parts and horsepower. He’s a towering presence in NASCAR, nearly a foot taller than everyone else. And yet, he’s never been more at home. “My racing days go back to the early 80s,” Daugherty said.
