Posted Aug 28, 2007
Phil Ford came home to Rocky Mount Saturday, speaking at the city's dedication of Martin Luther King Jr. Park, minutes away from where Ford spent his adolescent years in the Little Raleigh and Mayview neighborhoods. "It's a great place to grow up," Ford said. "The closeness of the people, the town, the athletic programs here. It's great to be home and have an opportunity to get back to Rocky Mount."
