Tar Heels fail to finish at basket, lose to Wake Forest

No. 19 North Carolina lacked intestinal fortitude in its first Atlantic Coast Conference game of the season, a 73-67 loss to Wake Forest on Sunday night at Joel Coliseum. The Tar Heels (10-4) outrebounded Wake Forest 36-14 in the first half while the Demon Deacons’ best rebounder, Devin Thomas, was saddled with two fouls and played eight minutes. But North Carolina trailed at halftime 34-32.
