North Carolina showed the sense of urgency on every play Friday that Roy Williams has constantly mentioned as the key to the Tar Heels’ turnaround. It just happened way too late to save No. 4 UNC from an early exit against No. 5 Pittsburgh in the ACC Tournament quarterfinals. The Tar Heels couldn’t come back from a 20-point deficit with 7:22 remaining and lost 80-75.
