Vandy position gives Rice steppingstone
Posted Jun 15, 2006
Vanderbilt University marks King Rice's fourth stop along the college coaching trail, and his new position was secured after six years away from the college sidelines. Rice was hired by head Commodores coach Kevin Stallings, the man who headed Illinois State University's staff when Rice assisted for that program from 1994-98. He began work June 1. "I feel very fortunate to have been selected. A couple of guys really wanted that job," said Rice, 37-year-old member of Binghamton High's Class of '87.
